Position Overview

The Senior VFX Producer works closely with VFX Supervisors managing all aspects of the VFX Production process, across complex live action and CG feature films. The role must continually work on developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and crew. Through strong leadership, the VFX Producer will set and keep milestones to schedule, manage client expectations, and support RSP's technical and creative staff. Typically, the types of projects you are adept at Producing are characterised as asset rich with high levels of naturalistic cg, perfectly incorporated into live-action plates.

Applicants must have extensive hands-on post-production VFX budgeting experience. Your VFX knowledge must to be finely tuned to appreciate the detail vfx disciplines require, to consistently deliver the highest quality work. Key financial responsibilities include working with the bidding team to establish project financials, through to creating change orders and continual reporting of bid vs actuals.

With the project Production Manager, you will need to track and monitor all aspects of turnover, vendor shares (if required), marketing requests, credit lists and consolidation. Your professionalism, decisiveness, organisational skills together with exceptional communication will underpin your success.

Responsibilities

• Bid work with the Sales team and Supervisors, maintaining change orders as scope varies.
• Work with the Executive Producer, Head of Production and Supervisors to ensure quality standards and protocols are adhered to.
• Define the overall project scope and execution strategy with the VFX Supervisor.
• Work with client and company to resolve any impasse which threatens to delay or impede project commitments or milestones.
• Complete project risk assessments for new opportunities, assessing resource requirements, viability and the impact each show may have to existing schedules and employees workload.
• Work with various Heads of Department and show supervisors to ensure briefs are clear and well defined.
• Create regular and accurate project reports, detailing the project’s financial and creative status to client and management.
• Act decisively to quickly provide clarity and direction from a mass of project data.
• Set and own client communication standards, adding value to the relationship through collaboration, providing assurance on all aspects of the project as required.
• In concert with the Production Management team, produce and maintain and communicate show schedules, ensuring the delivery roadmap is clear, making adjustments as the project evolves.
• Create mitigation strategies to reduce risk, impact, severity and reoccurrence of issues.
• Lead by example. Manage and mentor peers and members of the production team, cultivating an environment of professionalism and accountability. Foster an environment where people are engaged, valued, effective and always clear on expectation.

Required skills and experience

• 7+ years VFX Producer experience across live-action feature films.
• Proven strategic and project management experience across all areas of visual effects; including pre, shoot to post.
• Clear and methodical planning and communication with artists, supervisors and clients.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate with a high degree of professionalism and control within a pressurised, time-sensitive working environment.
• Excellent knowledge of Shotgun.
• Clear understanding of all aspects of the VFX workflow.
• Knowledge of Fast Track and other scheduling tools preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MS Office, with a focus on Word and Excel.
